Whether it’s to just have fun, learn and develop new skills, get in as many climbs at Smith Rock as possible or trying new, harder route; let us help you achieve your climbing goals. Choose your own adventure or let our AMGA certified guides provide an agenda that is suited to your climbing ability, goals and personal needs. Experience the best of Smith Rock’s single or multi-pitch routes from the classic cracks in the Gorge to the multi-pitch routes on the iconic Monkey Face.
We maintain a low client-guide ratio that allows the best opportunity for personal attention to learn and practice skills and maximize your climbing day. All necessary climbing gear is included (shoes, harness, helmet, etc). Full and half day trips available year round. Reservation required.
Trips can be scheduled for any day of the week. Our main season runs from April through November. Summer offers long days with the ability to climb as late as 8:00. The summer can be hot but just as gorgeous and your guide knows where shade is found just around the right corner! The spring and fall offer cooler temperatures. All appropriate climbing gear is included. See FAQ’s for a list of what you will need to bring.

The half-day is designed for those with a limited time commitment, families and younger children. Half days run 4 hrs and we climb at one of the more easily accessible areas in the park to best maximize time on the rock. The curriculum may include basic knots and rope skills, belaying, movement technique and lots of time on the rock!
It’s always a pleasure to spend a day climbing with Jim. His professional style and AMGA Certification make me feel safe, while his patience and enthusiasm encourages me to climb routes that I wouldn’t attempt on my own. Each day with Jim gives me a sense of adventure and accomplishment.
