Our personalized rock climbing trips cater to all skill levels and are guided by AMGA-certified experts. Each trip includes safety briefings, hands-on instruction, and all necessary gear at no extra cost. As you climb the best routes at Smith Rock State Park, you'll also learn about the local geology and ecology.

Our full-day trips offer up to 8 hours of climbing and exploration, perfect for those looking to achieve specific climbing goals and experience more of Smith Rock State Park. This option allows you to move between different climbing areas, making it ideal for more experienced climbers, adults, or couples who want a comprehensive and varied adventure.

What’s Included

We provide all essential rock climbing gear: climbing shoes, harnesses, and helmets at no extra cost. Please inform us of your gear needs when booking.

You're welcome to bring your own equipment if preferred!

What to bring

  • Water (2 liters minimum per person, especially in hot weather)
  • A hearty sack lunch and packable snacks
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a sun hat
  • A backpack large enough for water, lunch, snacks, and personal climbing gear (shoes, harness, helmet). We can provide a suitable backpack if needed; just let your guide know ahead of time.
  • Extra clothing in case of colder weather

Physical ability

Enjoy rock climbing with no prior experience needed; basic fitness for outdoor activities like hiking is sufficient. We tailor climbs to match your ability.

What to wear

Dress comfortably for the weather and activity. Opt for shorts, tights, or loose-fitting pants, along with a t-shirt or sport top. Bring layers for cooler mornings and sturdy outdoor footwear.

MEET UP LOCATION

Meet your guide at Smith Rock State Park. Details will be confirmed via email and a pre-trip call to ensure you have the exact meeting spot.

Your guide will call you the evening before your climb to confirm details, discuss meeting time and location, and address any specific needs or questions you may have.

START TIME

Choose your start time within your chosen half-day or full-day window. Start times can range from early morning to sunset and can be adjusted to fit your climbing adventure. If you need to adjust the start time, please contact us at 541-318-7170.

Smith Rock State Park Entrance Fee

A $5.00 parking pass is required and can be purchased at self-pay kiosks. Cash and credit cards are accepted, and an Oregon State Park pass is also valid.

How do I make a payment?

A valid credit card is required to hold your reservation. Full payment is due on the day of your trip, accepted via checks, money orders, and major credit cards.

Is a deposit required?

Private guided trips do not require a deposit. However, camps, courses, and groups over 10 require a 50% payment to hold a reservation.

Can I tip my guide?

Many clients ask us if it's appropriate to tip their guide. Tipping is customary, reflecting your satisfaction with the service provided.

What are your cancellation and refund policies?

Cancellation prior to 3 days before your trip allows for rescheduling or cancellation without penalty. Cancellations within 3 days will incur a 50% charge. Special circumstances may be considered for a full or partial refund.

What is your weather policy?

Cancellation or rescheduling due to inclement weather is without penalty. Once the trip begins, activities cut short due to weather are non-refundable. Consult with your guide on weather conditions on the day of your trip.

What should I consider regarding medical conditions?

Consult with us and your physician if you have recent injuries, medical conditions, or allergies that may affect your trip.

What personal responsibilities do I have?

Participants assume responsibility for their safety during the climb. We do not assume liability for injuries or medical costs. Travel insurance is recommended.

Do I need to sign a waiver?

All participants must complete and sign necessary forms before the trip begins to acknowledge risks and release liability.
