Multi Pitch Climbing Tours

Our seasoned, certified climbing guides will use their extensive knowledge of Smith Rock State Park and its iconic routes to create a custom climbing excursion tailored to your goals. If you're new to multi-pitch, we'll offer our guidance and make sure you have a memorable first time experience. For experienced climbers, we offer more focused  instruction for those wanting to hone the skills and techniques for more efficient and confident independent climbing beyond the single pitch.

Due to the nature to multi-pitch climbing we maintain the standard maximum of two climbers to one guide. In addition to wanting to help maximize your climbing day, limiting a climbing party to no more than three is what is considered best practice for efficiency, safety standards and climber etiquette.

What is Multi-Pitch  Climbing?

Multi-pitch climbing takes place on routes that are more than a single rope length, an ascent that requires more than one pitch or belay station. Typically, multi pitch routes finish on a ridge top or summit, often rewarding a climber with a spectacular view. Descent from the summit or top of the route may involve rappelling back to the ground or a walk off. Multi pitch climbing requires greater communication, trust, and coordination between climbers, making it a great option for team building and bonding among more experienced climbers.
