Get Ready to Climb at Smith Rock
We maintain a 5:1 client to guide ratio. All ages and ability levels welcome.
Rates are per person, for half day or full day. Half days are 4 hours long. Full day trips have no time constraints; but generally go from 6-8 hours.

Located just 3 miles east of highway 97 in the town of Terrebonne. A brown Smith Rock State Park sign and a yellow traffic light, mark the turn east onto Smith Rock Way. After turning east there are small signs for every turn.
A $5 day use parking permit or a current state park camp receipt available from the self service pay
• An Oregon State Parks Annual pass is $30,
two-year pass is $50, and both are available at the
Welcome Center and online.
• Day-use visitor hours are from dawn to dusk.
• Dogs are allowed, on a leash at all times.
• Bring water bottles. There is water in back of the
visitors center and at the bridge to fill water bottles.
• The park is open year-round
The Redpoint Climbers Supply is our local climbing shop in Terrebonne. Coffee, Beer and Gear!
Other nearby options: Mountain Supply and REI are located in Bend.
There are three restaurants in Terrebonne; Terrebonne Depot, Pump House Grill and Basecamp Pizza. Our recommendation goes to the climber owned Depot. There are also many great restaurants and breweries to choose from in Redmond, only 15 minutes away.
The Redpoint Climbers supply not only is a great gear shop but is the best place for coffee, local beer, cider selection on tap and community connection.
There is a full supermarket and deli in Terrebonne – Oliver Lemon for groceries.
Smith Rock State Park has a campground called
The Bivy. Space is available on a first-come first-served basis. There is a central cooking area and a walk-in tent set up area. There is running water and a charging station. Reservations are not accepted. Fees are $8 per person per night. It
includes the parking permit for the next day and use of the showers. No RV’s over 20ft.allowed and no overnight sleeping in vehicles, trailers or campers is allowed
The next closest camping is Skull Hollow
Grasslands National Monument Skull Hollow
Campground, a 10 minute drive east of Smith Rock. This campground has individual campsites, unlike the bivouac area. $8.00 per site. No running Water, No RV hook-ups, Campfires allowed and camping in vehicle is permitted

There are more vacation rentals in the area within driving-distance.
There are no hotels in Terrebonne. Redmond has several 2.5 and 3 star hotels. SCP Hotel Redmond is a nicely renovated downtown historic hotel with a rooftop bar 15 min drive to Smith Rock
Bend and Sisters 30 to 45 minute drive to Smith Rock both have a full range of hotels, depending on the experience you are looking for.
Full Moon Climbing Days
Our full moon climbing days start at 4:00 and go to 8:00, followed by a low key celebration with drinks and treats. Going out climbing in recognition of the full moon, is a way to be grounded and connected. This climbing outing is for experienced climbers, either in the gym or outside. Sign up for an Intro of Climbing first if you don’t have the experience to participate.

Meet Up Location
You will meet your guide at Smith Rock State Park. Smith Rock State Park is a small enough park to coordinate with your guide your exact meet up spot. It is also big enough that one meet up spot does not fit all. Your guide will check in with you before hand so you understand your exact meeting location.
What to Bring
- Bring water (2 liters minimum each person for hot summer days). Water bottles can be filled at the parking area of Smith Rock State Park.
- a hearty sack lunch and packable snacks.
sunscreen, sunglasses and perhaps a sun hat.
- a backpack; large enough to include, water, lunch, snacks, as well as personal climbing gear (shoes, harness, helmet). If you do not have a suitable backpack, we can provide one. Let your guide know ahead of time.
- extra clothing in case of colder weather.
What to Wear
- Dress for the season and forecasted weather. Wear clothing appropriate for being active outdoors.
- Shorts, tights, loose fitting pants, or sweatpants are appropriate.
It’s always good to have an extra long sleeve layer even in the summer, the shade in the mornings can be cool.
- Outdoor footwear comfortable for hiking and scrambling such as hiking shoes or tennis shoes. Open toed shoes, sandals and flip flops are not recommended!

Is a deposit required? Our private guided trips do not require a deposit. Our camps, courses, and groups over 10 require a 50% payment to hold a reservation.
